Goodman Private Wealth is a long established independent firm, based in Brisbane. The origins of our firm are in chartered accounting, but we decided as long ago as 1987 to focus exclusively on financial planning.

Our founder, John Goodman, saw a need particularly among families of substantial means, for a personalised service in an environment where financial choices were becoming increasingly complex and what passed for advice was too often a computer-driven commodity. He decided then that high level financial planning was a discipline demanding full-time commitment.

Today we provide an expanded range of private wealth and family office services backed by a team of experienced subject matter experts. We work with a limited number of clients to ensure quality of advice and personal attention at all times.

Our journey has required planning and innovation, for which we have been recognised at state and national levels. Our search for world class service and advice has lead us to embrace Values Based Financial Planning.

In 2016 the firm updated its name to Goodman Private Wealth and reaffirmed its vision to be the leading private wealth advisers for successful individuals and families.

In 2017 we celebrated our 30 year anniversary and reflected on the successful achievement of a rare milestone as a privately owned financial services firm.

At Goodman Private Wealth we have a long history of supporting the community. We strongly believe we have a responsibility to put something back into the communities in which we live and work which is reflected in our company’s stated purpose to have ‘a significantly positive impact on the community’. 

Along with our significant commitment to and involvement in growing philanthropy in South-East Queensland, our contribution takes many forms and often involves our people's time, knowledge, and influence, including:

  • Raising funds for a talking machine for a disabled child
  • Donating office equipment to a toy library for disabled children
  • Raising funds for a new school bus for a special school
  • Supporting various community organisations by taking active roles on committees
  • Assisting in the fundraising efforts for commutations infrastructure in East Timor
  • Encouraging our team members to take a day of paid leave to volunteer for their preferred charity
  • Donating to and fundraising for Opportunity International for microfinance in Asia
  • Inviting our team to select community organisations to receive our support, including Rotary, Micah Projects, and the Children's Hospital Foundation
  • Providing extensive considerable pro-bono administrative support and pro-bono advice to The Moreton Bay Foundation.
