James helps people to articulate their values, prioritise their goals, and then formulate strategies so they know the best next steps. James is recognised for his focus on client goals as a finalist in the ifa Excellence Awards – Goals-Based Adviser of the Year 2022.
James understands the needs of successful individuals and families, having worked as a trusted professional adviser for almost 25 years. This deep personal experience goes hand-in-hand with his technical skills so he can help his clients clarify what’s important to them and guide them towards where they want to be financially. James also draws on his background in economics which plays an important role in selecting investments for clients.
James has a first-hand appreciation of philanthropy through his leadership of the Goodman Foundation, and implements best practice when helping clients determine their philanthropic goals. James advises significant public and private ancillary funds and helped establish the inaugural Queensland Community Foundation Environmental Philanthropy Award and the Queensland Environment Fund. Prior to joining the firm, James worked in Brisbane with a Big Four accounting firm and in the UK as a management accountant.
